Supply Chain & Supplier Management/Process Analyst

Grainger’s Global Supply Chain & Merchandising/Supplier Management college recruiting program is designed to provide recent college graduates or a broad and well-rounded learning experience to directly learn how the best in class supply chain organization operates!

POTENTIAL AREAS
Branch Network
  • Partner with branch teams on continuous improvement to reduce cost & better serve our will-call and counter-order customers.
Field Experience
  • Work within the Illinois Distribution Center in 4 different identified roles through a 3 year rotational program supporting projects and processes within the DC and/or local branches.
GGS Engineering
  • Works closely with the Grainger Choice Team to provide high quality products at a great value to customers.
Inventory
  • Determine where to stock inventory for hundreds of Grainger locations across the U.S. based on inventory flows & product strategy.
Order to Cash
  • Work to continue creating a flawless end-to-end order experience for customers & team members.
Product Information & Search
  • Define & manage internal product taxonomy, attribute schema, product classification & search results to ensure customers can find, select, & confirm product selections.
Space Management & Network Design
  • Determine what the future product storage requirements will be in the distribution center network inclusive of design slotting & racking configurations that optimize existing space or re-evaluate the overall strategy.
Supplier Management
  • Determine product category strategy by selecting products & suppliers, negotiating product cost, & managing the accuracy of product information for items sourced domestically & internationally.
Supplier Performance Management
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure they meet Grainger compliance, regulatory, & customer service requirements.
Transportation
  • Partner with carriers & internal Supply Chain stakeholders to optimize freight spend & enhance delivery experience for Grainger’s customers.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
  • Onboarding: New hires will go through a comprehensive onboarding process & participate in structured development sessions.
  • Skillset Development: Receive on-going coaching to enhance communication, leadership, presentation, and analytical skillsets.
  • Leadership Exposure: Meet with executive leaders to learn about different areas of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • No visa sponsorships now or in the future.
  • Currently enrolled in a college or University and working towards a bachelors’ degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Marketing, Business Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related majors.              
  • Intermediate level of expertise in MS Office is required (especially enhanced Excel capabilities).
  • Proven communication (written / verbal), interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven analytical skills including an ability to synthesize information, reach logical conclusions, evaluate and improve processes.
