Grassroots Campaign Organizer (Phones)
Organization Description:
Ohio Citizen Action is Ohio’s largest statewide environmental non-profit. We organize grassroots campaigns dedicated to renewable energy advocacy and strengthening consumer protections in Ohio. We are hiring individuals to support our campaigns to protect the health, economy, environment, and livelihood of Ohio communities.
Aspects of our work focus on public health, sustainability and environmental issues, but we are currently focusing efforts on cleaning up Ohio's waterways by moving away from coal production and pollution, stopping rate hikes on electric utility bills, and promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy programs in the state.
Expectations:
- Educating and motivating Ohioans to advance our efforts in moving Ohio toward a renewable energy future by building awareness, fundraising, and organizing political action.
- Making calls and connecting with people who support our work to strengthen our campaigns.
- Taking part in organization demonstrations, legislative hearings, lobbying events, and campaign briefings.
Requirements:
Seeking politically-minded people who are passionate about environmental issues, have strong communication skills, basic computer skills, and a positive attitude.
- Great flexibility for students.
- Minimum 3-days per week required.
- Internship credit available.
Pay:
$11.00/hr to start. Bonus opportunities available.
