Accounts Payable Specialist

In the Accounts Payable Specialist role you will be a supportive team member in the finance department. Responsible for activities necessary to process invoices/checks, and other business expenses through the accounts payable/cash disbursement system for payment of approved expenditures. The ideal candidate will be willing to be exposed to and learn other accounting functions such as purchase order reconciliation, ad hoc reporting, spreadsheet maintenance & calculations.

Responsibilities
·        Verifies, enters, tracks and maintains vendor data files.
·        Processes weekly complete accounts payable cycle; staff reimbursements, vendor invoices, and generating accurate reporting.
·        Reviews invoices and supporting documentation for proper approval for payment.
·        Investigate discrepancies by effectively communicating with vendors and others outside the department.
·        Maintains purchase order log; issues all purchase orders, records data in log, provides information and new log sheets.
·        Provide administrative support to Accountants, Director of Finance and CFO as needed.
·        Assist in audit process in providing requested documentation as requested.
This position is part time, averaging 20 hours per week, flexible to accommodate a changing school schedule, therefore ideal for an accounting student seeking a part time job or internship.
