Financial Associate

***This position is located in Cincinnati, Ohio***

The mission of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) is to provide statewide leadership of a high-quality mental health and addiction prevention, treatment and recovery system that is effective and valued by all Ohioans.

Under the supervision of the Fiscal Payroll Supervisor: will review and verify varied department employee's time in Kronos timekeeping system and make any necessary adjustments to the employee’s time in accordance with DAS memorandums, Union Contracts and daily processing schedule. Process consists of, but is not limited to, verifying and entering missing punches, entering leave time from on-line RFL system, entering WOG time and other payroll related requests on a daily basis into Kronos. Will follow up and resolve time issues with employees prior to payroll processing week.
 
Under supervision of the Chief Operating Officer: Reviews, codes & processes invoices, receipts, vouchers or other accounting documents:  examines invoices for accuracy (e.g., verify mathematics,  proper signatures, accurate identification numbers, relevant dates, confirm &/or allocates appropriate program & activity codes, separates copies of accounting documents, sorts alphabetically by title & chronologically by date..), verifies, codes and processes payment card transactions, processes miscellaneous invoices for payments of food, rent, medical, & utilities for clients, coordinates client expenditures with clinical staff, review & audit commissary invoices. Answer general telephone inquiries; provides backup coverage in fiscal mail room (e.g., sorts incoming mail for pick up & delivery  throughout RPH grounds, processes outgoing mail (e.g., weighs, stamps..) for pick up & delivery to post office;  files cards, invoices & vouchers; types & proofreads correspondence, statements & forms; copy & fax information, gathers & compiles information & figures for reports; compiles & types variety of financial reports (e.g., weekly & annual reports relating to cash, budget, accounts receivable, accounts payable..)
 
Performs other related duties as requested by Payroll Supervisor or Chief Operating Officer and provides coverage in the absence of staff (vacation for timekeepers, Commissary coverage, etc.) and cooperates on group projects as a member of the Fiscal Department team. Completes annual training mandates.
