CLS and Skill Building Mentor

I love working as a CLS worker for IKUS because I get to form meaningful bonds with clients which impacts my life just as much as theirs. –Keenan, Current CLS Mentor
IKUS Life Enrichment Services values building meaningful relationships with clients and employees. As a Mentor, employees get to help individuals with disabilities attain greater independence and satisfaction in their lives. Working 1-on-1 with clients allows you to build the meaningful relationship that is necessary to empower clients into reaching their goals.
The Community Living Supports (CLS) program is a program designed for children and adults with disabilities. The CLS program is conducted in the community and in the person's home. It is mostly 1-on-1 training. We teach independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, money management, community integration, and socialization. We help provide some direct care assistance as well.
Skill Building Mentors work in a group setting to develop consumers' social skills and vocational skills. This program helps clients develop vocational, safety, leisure, relationship, and leadership skills by working from the goals in their Person-Centered Plan.
IKUS provides a positive and empowering culture where we want both our clients and employees to be successful each day. We provide great support and training for each employee and ensure that they get the training and mentorship needed to help them excel.
