TECHNOLOGY ANALYST

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
The Technology Analyst, under the direction of the Director of Information Systems – Healthwest or Network Technology Infrastructure Systems Manager, is responsible for information systems technology including hardware, software, networking, communications, data, and/or data processing, reporting, and analysis needs. An employee in this role is responsible for agency networking/networks, client server applications, relational database management, desktop applications, Internet-based applications, and/or data processing, reporting, and analysis needs. Depending on the system in question, this responsibility may include any or all of the following: development, implementation, management, maintenance, processing, reporting, analysis, and support. Employees in this class also provide technical assistance to lower-level information systems employees and other departmental or agency employees as necessary, and performs other related duties as required.
  
REQUIRED MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS:
1.   Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field; OR
2.  Be a high school graduate or have successfully completed the General Educational Development (GED) test AND
Have a minimum of three (3) years' full-time work experience in Information Systems to include Application/Database development and maintenance, Hardware/Software maintenance and support, Network Configuration, Installation, and Administration, and/or data processing, reporting, and analysis.
3.  Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
4.  Possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
5.  Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.
  
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS / WORK LOCATION:
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
The Technology Analyst performs generally sedentary work activity requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less.
 
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
An employee in this class generally works in the Information Systems Offices of the Healthwest department of the County, but occasional travel throughout the County may be required. Travel outside of the County may also be required for purposes of training, conference or meeting attendance, or support of staff performing in agency roles whose offices exist outside of County boundaries.
  
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
EVALUATION CONTENT
The selected candidate must take a post-offer medical examination (including back screen and complete physical) and drug screening test given by a County appointed physician before the first day of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the medical examination and drug screening test. Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.

PURPOSE
The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list from which to fill present and future vacancies in this classification in the County system. For each opening, the Department Head has her/his choice of the candidates who meet the required minimum entrance qualifications. This list remains in effect for three months unless exhausted or extended.
