Adventure Camp Counselor Colorado

Gain a well rounded experience that will help prepare you for any future job.

At Sanborn Western Camps, we strive to develop a strong community of respect and fun. We host campers for month-long and two-week camp sessions. We work with children ages 6-16 and as a counselor your focus is on leading kids on adventures in the Rocky Mountains. Our camp programs include camping, horseback riding, mountaineering, rock climbing, canoeing, fishing, and much more.
All counselors live on camp property in one of several tents or cabins, living with the campers. We work to create connections with nature and connections with each other. Counselors will need to be role models for the campers, and each counselor must have a passion for working with kids.

Location: 30 miles west of Colorado Springs on a 6,000-acre private ranch deep in the Rocky Mountain wilderness.
We specialize in outdoor adventures on the trail (like backpacking, mountain biking, rock climbing and horse pack trips) and also offer in-camp activities (like archery, swimming, sports and camp games).
All counselors also lend a hand with cleaning, kitchen support, and other duties assigned to keep the large summer camp running.

Enthusiastic, resilient and flexible individuals.
Applicants must have completed high school and have a willingness to be a contributing member of our camp community and the desire to be a positive influence in the life of children.
Our positions are open to men and women 2 years out of high school — traditionally college sophomores and older. This position is residential and is all about working, teaching and living with children and creating a respectful community based around living in close contact to nature.
