Summary
 
Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Laboratory Manager within the Microbial analysis group. The laboratory Manager will manage scientific support staff as well as oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the Microbial Analysis Lab.    
 
The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the performance of multiple infectious disease research projects simultaneously in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories, including the propagation, characterization, manipulation, and detection and/or quantification of bacterial, fungal, viral, and toxin agents. This is also responsible for project prioritization, regulatory compliance (FDA GLP, ES&H, etc.), data interpretation, data summary, report writing, and interfacing with investigators who utilize this lab. 
 
The Laboratory Manager will oversee maintenance of continuous cell cultures, ensure accurate and complete study records, supply inventory, and laboratory equipment. Responsibilities also include developing paperwork, analyzing data, processing study samples for quantification of viable microbes including bacteria, fungi, and/or viruses, and performing a variety of biochemical assays (including, but not limited to, qPCR, ELISA, and microscopic analyses), all while maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment.
