Development Intern - Summer 2019 (Paid)

As a Development Intern you will work directly with the Development Services team on a range of office-based, administratively-oriented activities that have a clear connection to our organizational vision to see India Transformed by the love of Christ. Throughout your internship you will apply your academic learning to real-world situations and cultivate leadership, problem solving, and communication skills.
Essential Functions
You'll have opportunities to give input, solve problems, lead projects, and be an owner every day as you:
- Support our fundraising team through a variety of donor-related activities of a confidential nature including preparing sponsorship profiles and reporting for donors, updating our database, donor research, assisting with our virtual reality equipment, and participating in thank you calls/correspondence to donors.
- Gain familiarity with our donor database, Salesforce
- Work alongside a high performing team in a fast-paced work environment
- Participate in cross-departmental work and mentoring to gain exposure to all facets of nonprofit organizational functions, such as Ministry, Marketing, Finance, Fundraising
- Attain on-the-job work experience aligned with your career objectives, including an Internship Project tailored to your skills and interests.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to achieve organizational objectives
Requirements
You might be just who we're looking for if you are:
- Detail-oriented & extremely organized
- Thrive in a team environment but also a self-starter who can work independently
- A strong written and verbal communicator
- Computer savvy and comfortable working for extended periods in an office/desk-based environment
- Flexible and interested in learning and working on a variety of activities
- Previous customer service experience a plus
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university, and in good academic standing within your current academic program. Minimum of junior status required.
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations
Schedule
- Minimum of 20 and up to 30 hours per week during the summer
- Flexible scheduling during our regular business hours: 8-4:30 pm, Monday through Friday
- Based in our office on 44th Street in Kentwood, Michigan
