Private Commercial Real Estate Management Company located in East Lansing, MI is looking for qualified candidates for a Human Resources Assistant. Applicants must have the ability to be professional, articulate, and accurate. This is a unique entry- level position as MRD considers the Human Resources Assistant as a Human Resources Director "in training" who will eventually take over the role of Director. For this reason, we require either 1-2 years experience in Human Resources plus a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources OR a Masters Degree in Human Resources.
Some job duties include:
Provides clerical and operational support to the HR Director
Payroll processing
Conduct new hire processing, to include pre-employment screening, onboarding, and E-Verify processing
Perform HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance
Assist employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures
Performs a wide range of duties relative to the maintenance and processing of confidential personnel records and reports
Oversee and direct workers compensation claims
Facilitate employee benefit enrollment
You will also schedule meetings, conduct research, and prepare reports
We require a strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (with emphasis on Microsoft Excel), eloquent prose capabilities, and a near obsessive attention to detail. This position also requires one to maintain an extreme discretion and confidentiality. Position also requires the ability to reflect the goals and values of our company. Experience in Payroll Software highly preferred.
