The first level IT Resource Manager leads the development team that is responsible for system development, programming, trouble shooting and system management of the IT systems that support the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). The position has the responsibility of managing and providing leadership to a team of IT analysts employed by Customer Services – LARA Lansing within the Department of Technology, Management and Budget. The team consists of application developers, analysts and contractors responsible for application development for LARA. The team is primarily responsible for the development, testing, implementing and maintaining these systems. This position serves as the liaison between DTMB and LARA and is responsible for meeting customer needs and expectations.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree with not less than 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

Experience
Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator 12.

Alternate Education and Experience
Three years of experience as a computer programming supervisor or Information Technology Supervisor may be substituted for the education and experience.
