SOFWERX Social Media Marketing Internship
The Organization:
SOFWERX is a platform operated under an agreement between the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and DEFENSEWERX, designed to increase collaboration and innovation in order to solve the most challenging warfighter problems.
We are seeking an energetic, proactive intern with a strong desire to work in the digital communication industry. The chosen candidate will learn the mission of SOFWERX in order to coordinate and execute the social media and outreach strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the social media calendar according to the communications plan
- Develop appropriate content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
- Monitor, engage and respond to online activity across social media platforms
- Increase the ecosystem and engagements through social media and email channels
- Assist in coordinating various marketing methods including direct mail, print ads, networking, internet, social media and developing new methods of marketing
- Create content and format the internal newsletter for weekly digital publication
- Provide clerical support and event support as needed
- Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned
Requirements:
- MUST BE US CITIZEN
- Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited local University
- Junior or Senior level, with current GPA of 3.0 or above
- Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm and confidentiality
- Experience in WordPress, Mail Chimp, Social Media Management and Big Contacts preferred
Time Commitment:
- Hours of operation are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday thru Friday
- Position requires a minimum of 15 hours and a maximum of 29 hours per week during the summer

Rate of pay:
- $10 - $13 per hour depending on experience and year in school
- Opportunity for follow-on internship based on performance
