Document Engineer

What will you be responsible for?
Create computerized drawings, part masters, routing and bills of materials to support product and manufacturing process. Process basic engineering change requests, including revising drawings, bill of materials, and routings. Assist in administration of change management and perform various other Engineering Department assignments as needed.
  • Prepare detailed drawings showing dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
  • Create computerized part masters and bills of material to support product offering.
  • Prepare CNC documentation, draw floor plans, layouts, assembly drawings, spec sheet drawings, and engineering standards as required.
  • Determine the labor, equipment, and process for each part number and enter routing information into ERP system.
  • Process engineering change requests having less complexity, initiate revision notices and assist product engineers on projects.
  • Proceed on detail with minimum supervision after assigned instructions are given, guidance and assistance provided on new work and variations.

What are we looking for?
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Solidworks software packages. 1-3 years’ experience in detail drafting and related drafting assignments to become familiar with product designs and standard detail drafting procedures. 
  • Knowledge of supermarket and retail merchandising a plus.
  • Exposure to fabrication of display product, electrical, and refrigeration.
  • Worked with modular product (supermarket merchandising preferred) which can be assembled in multiple configurations to meet customer needs. Work in a multi-functional department where responsibilities are varied.
  • Flexible to communicate with internal personnel in solving day-to-day problems. Flexible to meet increased time demands caused by seasonal business. Enjoy working in an atmosphere where teamwork, trust, and cooperation are fostered and where personal initiative is encouraged.
  • Two years of college/technical school in engineering related field required; in lieu of college/technical school, high school diploma and 2+ years’ experience in fabrication, assembly, drafting, computer, and electrical wiring.
