Procurement Internship

Primary Purpose:
  1. Aid buyers in collaboration with internal customers, management, suppliers, legal and various other disciplines. Identify cost savings opportunities, process improvements and standardizations.
  2. Contribute in process improvement goals designed to effectively enhance the procurement process. Participate in training and perform a variety of other duties to ensure contract and procurement compliance.
  3. Assignments and initiatives will be worked on as directed by Procurement leadership. These will include tasks benefiting the team and will include activities to advance understanding of IPS processes.
  4. Develop personal internship development plan that will include performance meetings, developments meetings, skill set review, informational interviews, and a capstone presentation of intern learnings and successes.
Major Projects:
  • Loading of contracts to Contract Management System as part of Audit Remediation cleanup efforts. 
  • Perform many basic project management activities, including document updates for monitoring and tracking progress of project.
  • Perform daily functions including tracking of shopping carts, requisitions, and purchase orders. Assist with ongoing and ad hoc projects.
  • Meeting minutes, preparing presentations and analysis for IPS management as required. 
  • Intern development:
  1. Schedule and attend informational interviews with various colleagues throughout MBFS for purpose of understanding MBFS, captive finance, and Procurement.
  2. Attend development meetings to discuss various skillset topics including Business Process Management, Project Management, Customer Experience, and other topics. 
  3. Attend Performance meetings to present work progress; discuss challenges, and possible resolutions.
List of Activities:
  • Complete end of internship Capstone presentation to management providing overview of internship program
  • Intern will gain knowledge from job shadowing, one on one training sessions and by using work instructions. 
  • Current members of the IPS team will complete necessary training.

Please note this is a temporary, part-time internship and is able to work up to 29 hours per week in our local office. Start date and end date are flexible based on candidates availability.
