Variety Internship Program: Strategic Partnerships
 
Variety is currently seeking interns to engage in training and practical learning experience with event and industry summit partnerships in our Strategic Partnerships department in Los Angeles for the Spring. This internship offers hands-on experience and shadowing of professionals at a reputable and fast-paced industry leading publication.
 
This internship is best suited to students with an understanding and passion for strategic research, event marketing, and social media planning. For this position, interns will have the opportunity to hone their business development skills all the while learning about events, sponsorships, publishing, the entertainment industry, and overall sales. The tasks and activities of this internship are designed to enrich the intern with valuable skills transferable to the intern's future career. 
 
  • Research possible partners for sponsorship at both our consumer events and summits.
  • Create recap slides post event for partners to display their ROI.
  • Reformat speaker headshots & partner logos for the events website, while keeping track of which headshots and logos have run in e-blast and house ads.
  • Create and review agreements for various events. Learn how different pricing tiers affect what partners receive for summits and events. Attend client calls to understand how partners come onboard.
  • Manage tracker that oversees client deliverables once an agreement is in
  • Create Insertion Orders for digital campaigns.
  • Mail out weekly issues to clients who have ads running.
  • Volunteer to work at both consumer events and summits. At both consumer events and summits interns will assist with check-in. At consumer events after check-in is complete the intern can assist with social media, red carpet or at partner activations as needed. At summits interns will assist with check-in and if possible will be able to attend a panel. Events are voluntary activities for interns to attend to gain a well-rounded understanding of the partnership activities.
 
The internship will begin February 2019 and can run up to 6 months.
The internship pays $13.25 an hour and is up to 18 hours per week.
