Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification):   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Public Policy or equivalent
Job Duties (Summary):

  • Effectively communicates policy changes in the assigned program (Children’s Services, Child Support, Family and Adult Assistance, etc). Assists with the design, development, publishing and distribution of reports and policy documents such as letters, memos, newsletters, desk aides, fact sheets, etc. Interviews program resources to gather information on the implementation and impact of policy and procedure changes, and clearly communicates that information through written material. Reviews all state and federal clearance materials and gathers impact and feedback from agency managers, compiles the input and submits through appropriate feedback agency. Provides policy briefings and other continuing education services to effected staff. Ensures all policies are written in accordance with federal law and statute, Ohio Revised and Administrative Code , as well as COA standards. These tasks are all completed in a timely manner that insures the effective provision of consumer services.
 

  • Serves as an internal consultant, resource, policy expert and communications expert, troubleshooting policy problems and questions internally, as well as with appropriate governing bodies. Writes clear, concise messages to be delivered via website, inner-office email, newsletters, posters, etc. for the purpose of communicating policies and other key decisions. May be called upon to provide or assist in providing the agency with a clear understanding of the impact of policy changes on agency operations at all levels and devise plans for coping with the impact. Will participate in other work-related teams and groups aimed at analyzing and communicating wide impact of changes. Serves as a policy design and development resource to other committees and work groups as needed.
 

  • Serves as a coordinator of monthly the assigned program Practice or Policy Meetings. Involving solicitation of topics from program leadership, calendaring the events, scheduling rooms and developing and distributing communication to Managers and staff.
