Prevention Specialist

Position Summary:
The #Metoo Movement has brought public attention to the staggering rates of sexual violence and domestic abuse throughout the country. The YWCA has long understood the impact these acts have on individuals and the community through the work we do to support victims/survivors, and we’ve decided it’s time to take a stand. The time to put an end to sexual violence and domestic abuse is now.
Support the mission of the YWCA through the Prevention Specialist position. This individual assists the program director in the development, implementation, and evaluation of violence prevention programming, which includes working with various individuals and community partners to improve education and prevention practices addressing child sexual abuse, sexual assault, stalking, and dating and domestic abuse.

Qualifications:
Applicants should consider themselves to be visionary, detail oriented, able to work independently, collaborative, willing and able to learn new skills, and have strong interpersonal skills. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required in fields such as liberal arts or social sciences; examples: Social Work, Public Health, Sociology, Psychology, Women’s and/or Gender Studies, or a related field.

Additional Details:
Full time, 40hr/wk position. Typically Mon-Fri with some evenings and weekends required.
Starting wage $16/hr with full benefits package available.
