Research & Development Intern- Madison, WI

The Madison CAG group is focused on the development of novel next generation sequencing applications.  The intern in this role will be working closely with the CAG group to perform and analyze experiments targeted towards the evaluation of enzymes and methods aimed for product development.
Education:

  • Rising Junior with a minimum 3.2 GPA - both cumulative and major
  • Required major in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field.
  • Preferred major in Biology or Biochemistry.
Qualifications:

  • Willing to learn new information and apply it to solve problems.
  • Capable of implementing complex protocols with minimal instruction.
  • Must keep good notes in a laboratory notebook.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze results.
  • Preferred hands on experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred basic biology background.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and hard-working individual.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to communicate ideas and results clearly.

Top candidates will move to our video interviewing platform as first step, in mid-November.  Those selected for next steps will be contacted for a technical phone interview; the phone interview will be scheduled for early December.  As the last step, final intern candidates will be invited to interview onsite.
The iAspire program only supports F-1 visa status; no other visa types are eligible.  F-1 students must have at least 3 months of CPT or OPT eligibility to participate.
