Database Administrator – Heart of the City West
 
Cherry Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a mission to improve the health and wellness of individuals by providing comprehensive primary and behavioral health care while encouraging access by those who are underserved. The Database Administrator is responsible for designing, installing, monitoring, maintaining, and performance tuning production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. This position configures database backup and maintenance jobs, and sets up database-level security access in accordance with best practices. This position also works closely with other information systems staff to support critical software applications. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position working Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • Microsoft MCSE or MCP SQL Server certifications preferred
  • Five plus years experience as a database administrator for an MSSQL server environment, Experience in healthcare industry preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
 
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, support, implement, upgrade, and deploy critical databases and applications to meet business requirements
  • Monitor, analyze and measure database performance and storage needs
  • Work with other team members to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality of internally developed assets
  • Design, implement, and maintain redundant systems for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Develop custom SQL scripts and automated jobs for transferring and updating data including data migrations between systems
  • Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing process for modifications to databases
  • Maintain database documentation according to best practices
  • Perform database transaction and security audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned
