Tax Processor Intern

VBA CPAS is a public accounting firm located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and we are seeking a part-time tax processor for the upcoming tax season. 

Candidates should have a strong interest in accounting or finance and be detail oriented. This position is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. 

Hours are flexible but would need to be available approximately 5-6 hours per day or 2-3 full days between 8am and 5pm, Monday-Friday. The intern will need to be available to work for approximately 10-15 hours per week in late January/early February and up to 20-25 hours per week from late February through April 15.

The person selected for this internship can expect to be involved with the following tasks over the course of the internship:

 ·    Processing of tax return packets in a neat and orderly fashion to be delivered to clients

·    Scanning documents into paperless file system

·    Learning basics of individual income tax forms

·    Learning basics of software used to prepare individual income tax returns

·    Resolve follow-up issues/questions raised during processing

·    Assisting staff members and partners with various tasks and assignments
