Program Summary 

Xcel Energy is seeking interns for our 2027 Internship Program. Our internships provide meaningful experience through realistic projects that directly impact a team’s and Xcel Energy’s business goals. Interns may be undergraduate degree or graduate degree level students who are seeking internships and are currently enrolled in an accredited academic institution. College internships must be related to a student’s field of study and/or interest. Our internships are available within our eight-state service territory, including: Colorado, Minnesota, Texas, New Mexico, Michigan, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota.  

We are currently offering 100+ internships in three different areas of interest: 

Business Internship 

Engineering Internship 

Technical Internship

Our program start date is May 24, 2027. These positions may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel’s business needs.

Non-Bargaining 

This is a part-time position. The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $15.60 to $30.90 per hour, based on the students’ year of study.  

This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
