Rangeland Management Specialist

This position is located in Wray, CO as part of the Colorado State NRCS Office. As a Rangeland Management Specialist, you'll provide professional services in the planning and application of soil, water, and natural resource conservation and development activities on ranches and farms within the local county

Additional duties and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting farmers and ranchers with effective and sustainable land use by evaluating rangeland conditions, advising on crops and grasses, planning water development, guiding irrigation, and calculating feed and forage needs.
• Following up with cooperators to implement management plans, determine successes or failures of established practices, and provide assistance in the establishment of supplemental practices.
• Assessing resources, identifying conservation needs, and developing land-appropriate conservation plans to support farmers and ranchers.
• Monitoring rangeland trends, evaluating grazing use and productivity, and helping landowners align grazing plans with available forage.
