ROLE:
The College Financial Planning Associate serves as the central point of coordination between clients, financial advisors, and Northwestern Mutual's Home Office. This role provides hands-on experience managing client cases, facilitating communication, supporting meeting preparation, and ensuring financial planning recommendations are implemented efficiently.
Ideal candidates enjoy working with people, managing multiple priorities, and creating exceptional client experiences. Associates gain exposure to all aspects of the financial planning process while building professional skills and working toward Life, Accident, and Health Insurance licensing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate communication between clients, advisors, and Home Office teams
- Complete case preparation, feed lists, and illustrations for client meetings
- Prepare client review materials and executive summaries
- Fill out and submit all investment paperwork to Northwestern Mutual Investment Services
- Communicate with clients through the onboarding and underwriting process, ensuring all documentation, signatures, and requirements are completed accurately and on time
- Monitor application and policy status updates
- Identify and resolve service issues proactively
- Support service requests and account maintenance activities
- Operational support as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Full-time student enrolled in relevant degree program
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability
- Customer-focused team player with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate professionally with multiple stakeholders
RENUMERATION:
- Hourly compensation + commission
- Support for insurance licensing
