Safety and Occupational Health Specialist
As a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
- Developing, planning, and conducting firefighter serious injury and fatality investigations for the Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program (FFFIPP).
- Using the firefighter fatality database, and in consultation with experts within the fire service, develop hypotheses for prevention and intervention activities.
- Preparing reports and articles about the program and individual investigations for NIOSH publications,
peer-reviewed journals, and trade journals. - Providing technical assistance to fire departments during evaluation of occupational injuries and fatalities, assisting FIT personnel during their injury and fatality investigations, and conducting investigations as a lead investigator.
