Tall Turf Ministries is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing & Communications Intern to help tell the stories of youth and families whose lives are being transformed through outdoor adventure, leadership development, mentoring, and year-round programming.
This is an opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on marketing experience while building a professional portfolio and making a lasting impact in the West Michigan community.
About Tall Turf Ministries
Tall Turf Ministries is a Christian nonprofit organization serving children, teens, and families through youth camps, leadership development, outdoor education, mentoring, and community partnerships. Our mission is to inspire young people to grow in character, confidence, leadership, and faith.
Internship Responsibilities
The Marketing & Communications Intern will work directly with the Executive Director to:
- Create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Design flyers, brochures, and promotional materials using Canva.
- Capture photos and videos during programs and special events.
- Write stories highlighting campers, volunteers, and community impact.
- Assist with monthly email newsletters.
- Update website content.
- Help promote fundraising events, youth camps, and community programs.
- Assist with donor and volunteer communications.
- Track social media engagement and basic marketing analytics.
- Support other communications and marketing projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred majors:
- Marketing
- Communications
- Public Relations
- Journalism
- Graphic Design
- Digital Media
- Business
- Related fields
Preferred skills:
- Strong written communication
- Canva experience
- Social media knowledge
- Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Photography or video editing experience (preferred but not required)
- Organized, dependable, and able to work independently
Internship Details
- Location: Hybrid (Grand Rapids, MI office with occasional travel to Tall Turf events and camp)
- Hours: 10–15 hours per week (flexible around class schedules)
- Semester: Fall 2026 (with the opportunity to continue into Spring 2027)
- Start Date: September 2026
- Compensation: Stipend or college credit (depending on funding and university requirements)
