Specialty Retina Center is a growing, patient-centered ophthalmology practice committed to providing exceptional care through innovation, technology, and clinical excellence. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team and support our physicians, pharmacists, and clinical staff in delivering outstanding patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Receive, review, and enter prescription orders accurately.
  • Assist with medication inventory management, ordering, stocking, and expiration date monitoring.
  • Process prescription prior authorizations and communicate with insurance providers.
  • Coordinate medication refills and specialty pharmacy services.
  • Educate patients regarding prescription pickup procedures and medication assistance programs.
  • Maintain accurate patient and medication records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacies, and patients.
  • Support medication reconciliation and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Assist with quality assurance initiatives and maintain compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration/license (if you have)
  • Minimum 1 -1.5 years of pharmacy experience preferred (retail, hospital, or specialty pharmacy).
  • Knowledge of pharmacy software and electronic medical records.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with specialty medications, prior authorizations, or ophthalmology is a plus.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification and pharmacy benefit management.
