Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) – School-Based 1:1 Support | Germantown/ Northwest Philadelphia, PA 

Location: Germantown/ Northwest Philadelphia, PA 
Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday during school hours

U.S. Medical Staffing is seeking dependable and compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to provide one-on-one therapeutic and behavioral support to children and adolescents in a school setting in the Philadelphia 19144 area for the upcoming school year.

BHTs implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions within therapeutic environments that may include schools, homes, day care programs, and other community settings. This position will primarily support an assigned student throughout the school day. The BHT will use the child’s behavioral treatment plan, targeted strategies, and approved behavioral techniques to address the student’s specific needs and goals, improve behavioral health, and support successful participation in educational activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 therapeutic and behavioral support to an assigned child or adolescent in school
- Implement the child’s treatment plan, behavioral interventions, behavior modification techniques, and proactive stabilization strategies
- Support classroom participation, transitions, communication, coping skills, social skills, and positive behaviors
- Provide therapeutic interventions during treatment and educational activities
- Work collaboratively with the Behavior Consultant, school personnel, family members, supervisors, and other treatment-team members
- Monitor whether the service plan is meeting the child’s needs and communicate recommendations or concerns to the treatment team
- Provide information, guidance, and behavioral modeling to help school personnel and families support the child
- Collect behavioral data and document the child’s progress accurately and professionally
- Complete and submit all required documentation legibly and on time
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and compliance with school and provider procedures
- Attend required training, supervision, and team meetings
- Work in school, home, day care, or community settings when required to meet the child’s needs

Required Skills and Experience:
- Completed 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training curriculum before starting an assigned case
- Ability to complete all CBH-mandated and provider-required training
- Understanding of behavior modification interventions and their implementation
- Knowledge of crisis-management and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to build effective working relationships with diverse children, families, school staff, and community stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and independently follow treatment objectives
- Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, initiative, and follow-through
- Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Reliable attendance and availability during school-day hours

Education and Experience — Applicants Must Meet One of the Following:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, education, criminal justice, or a similar human-services field; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in any field with at least one year of paid work experience involving direct contact with children or adolescents; OR
- Associate degree, or at least 60 college credits toward a bachelor’s degree, with at least three years of full-time paid direct-care experience with children or adolescents; OR
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience providing ABA services and completion of a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List. The training certificate must include the name of the responsible trainer, who must be certified as a BCBA or BCaBA.

Candidates must be able to provide their degree and official transcripts when applicable.

Required Clearances and Documentation:
- Current PA Criminal Background Check for employment
- Current Child Abuse Clearance
- Current DHS/DPW FBI Fingerprinting Clearance
- Current physical examination and TB/PPD screening
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Mandated Reporter training and other required certifications
- Education verification, official transcripts, identification documents, and professional references
- Any additional documentation required by the provider, school, or assigned case

Contract Details:
- 1099 independent contractor opportunity
- Pay range of $18.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on assignment and qualifications
- School-based assignment in the Philadelphia 19144 area
- Consistent weekday schedule aligned with the school calendar and student needs
- Hours and assignments are based on student needs, school schedules, credentialing, and placement availability
