Nutrition Education Assistant

Nutrition Education Assistant (CPA) – WIC Program (Full-Time)

This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in nutrition, health education, community services, public health, or human services. As part of the WIC team, you'll provide important nutrition support to families while gaining valuable experience in client services, health education, and program coordination.

What You'll Do

  • Provide basic nutrition education and WIC services to eligible families
  • Meet with participants to assess needs and provide nutrition support
  • Assist clients with WIC program information, resources, and referrals
  • Complete required documentation and maintain accurate client records
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to keep program services running smoothly
  • Deliver friendly, respectful, and culturally responsive customer service
  • Work collaboratively with a team dedicated to supporting Alaska families

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One year of successful work experience
  • Ability to successfully complete the State of Alaska WIC CPA Certification Exam (required within 12 months of hire if not already certified)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds with professionalism and compassion
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems
  • Dependable, positive, and able to work independently and as part of a team
