Regional Accountant

Cardinal Senior Living is hiring a Regional Accountant for our Michigan Corporate Office

The ideal candidate will work from our Cardinal Senior Management office located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The following duties are considered essential to the job:

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
  • Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
  • Maintain the fixed asset ledgers for all entities on a monthly basis that reconcile to the general ledger and have appropriate back-up support.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis by reconciling the bank balance to the cash balance on the general ledger and the cash log and consolidating the master sweep accounts for all sweep accounts.
  • Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
  • Collects appropriate information to complete payroll entry.
  • Assists in the processing and compilation of year-end reports required by the independent auditors and tax accountants.
  • Follow federal, state and local laws.
  • Confidentially handle employee concerns and issues.

Education & Knowledge Requirements- Specific education, certification, and licensure:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or Associates with 1+years experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct is a plus

Essential Job-Related Experience/Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Ability to walk continuously, bend frequently, and sit occasionally
  • Ability to complete and maintain documentation
  • Ability to operate computer systems and phone systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidential data
