HR Intern
H&S Companies, CPAs & Business Advisors
Who we are
We are an integrated professional services firm driven by the belief that meaningful impact is possible—with our clients, our team members, and our communities. Guided by a fully aligned leadership team, this isn't just an aspiration—it's a reality we're creating 90 days at a time.
Our mission is to be the best and most integrated professional services firm, helping individuals, businesses, government entities, and non-profits achieve their most important goals. We do this by working proactively to identify and prioritize clients' goals, offering exceptional advice, and helping our clients execute that advice.
The HR Intern is a hands-on support role within our People Operations function, helping keep the day-to-day mechanics of the employee experience running smoothly across the firm. This is a part-time, entry-level opportunity built for someone who wants real exposure to how HR functions inside a professional services firm — onboarding, training, compliance tracking, recruiting support, and the many small details that keep employee records and programs accurate and current. We're looking for someone organized, discreet with sensitive information, and eager to learn how the people side of the business works. We'll teach the systems and processes — we're looking for reliability, curiosity, and follow-through.
What You'll Do
- Support onboarding for new hires — preparing paperwork, coordinating start-day logistics, and helping new team members feel welcomed and set up for success.
- Assist with scheduling for interviews, training sessions, and People Operations meetings across offices.
- Maintain the firm's CPE tracker, helping team members and leadership stay on top of continuing professional education requirements and deadlines.
- Support project management of the training curriculum, helping organize materials, track completion, and keep resources current.
- Provide support on special HR projects as they arise, pitching in wherever an extra set of hands is needed.
- Track hours worked weekly to help monitor benefit eligibility thresholds accurately and on time.
- Assist with sourcing resumes and candidates for open roles, helping build a strong pipeline for the recruiting team.
- Help coordinate Employee Sprinkles (our employee recognition and appreciation moments), making sure milestones and highlights don't go unnoticed.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee contact information across our systems so nothing falls through the cracks.
Who You Are
- Organized and detail-oriented — you keep track of multiple small tasks without letting anything slip.
- Trustworthy with confidential and sensitive employee information.
- A clear, friendly communicator who's comfortable coordinating with people across offices and levels.
- Curious about how HR and people operations work, with an interest in growing into a people-facing role.
- Comfortable balancing routine, recurring tasks with the occasional last-minute request.
- Available to work part-time hours with some flexibility during peak periods (e.g., onboarding cycles, CPE deadlines).
