Hospice Interns or Volunteer
Interim HealthCare of West Michigan is a locally owned and operated leader in post-acute care services in West Michigan.
We are now seeking Interns or Volunteers to serve within our growing Hospice Division. Give of your time when time matters most.
Your Role
- Engage in direct patient interaction: read to your patient, lend a smile, listen to another's life-journey, share the joy of music, a favorite show, or laughter while playing a game with your patient
- This is a flexible role, and can be adapted to fit busy student schedules
- Interns participate in a variety of tasks, ranging from administrative, customer service, to the formation of goals and requirement fulfillment around practicum needs
- Interns and Volunteers are involved with Hospice patients within a variety of settings, from assisted living facilities, adult foster homes, to private residences, carrying out assigned one-on-one care

Intern or Volunteer Responsibilities
- Participate in an interview process
- Participate in intern or volunteer orientation, onboarding, and training
- Spend time serving your assigned patient(s) and/or fulfilling administrative duties
- Communicate consistently and regularly with your Coordinator
- Documentation in an EMR platform
Intern or Volunteer Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Reliable transportation with a valid state driver's license and current car insurance
- Kind, Compassionate, Reliable, and Emotionally mature
