PR & Communications Intern

Finz is a New York-based fintech startup building AI software that helps physical businesses improve control over cash, costs, and profitability.

We are looking for a strong writer and communicator to help shape how Finz presents itself to customers, investors, partners, media, and the broader startup ecosystem.

You will work directly with the founder on company communications, founder-led content, media research, podcast outreach, product announcements, events, and industry storytelling.

This is a hands-on internship designed to provide direct exposure to startup communications, public relations, fintech, AI, and founder-led company building.

What You’ll Do

  • Turn founder notes, conversations, product updates, and market insights into clear, compelling content
  • Draft LinkedIn posts, articles, newsletters, company updates, and website content
  • Research journalists, publications, newsletters, podcasts, events, and speaking opportunities
  • Build and maintain targeted media, podcast, and industry contact lists
  • Support media outreach, podcast pitches, interview preparation, and follow-ups
  • Draft company announcements, event invitations, briefing notes, and external communications
  • Help develop customer stories, founder narratives, and industry perspectives
  • Repurpose long-form ideas into short-form social and communications content
  • Track relevant fintech, AI, business, and startup conversations
  • Support selected founder dinners, industry events, and community initiatives

What You’ll Gain

Who We’re Looking For

  • Current student or recent graduate in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Media, Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills
  • Able to communicate complex ideas clearly and simply
  • Interested in startups, technology, AI, fintech, media, or entrepreneurship
  • Organized, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative
  • Able to work independently and respond well to direct feedback
  • Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment

Experience with any of the following is useful, but not required:

  • Journalism, student publications, newsletters, blogs, or social media
  • Public relations, media research, podcasts, or event communications
  • LinkedIn content, founder content, or executive communications
  • Student clubs, startup communities, campus organizations, or events
  • Canva, Figma, CapCut, Substack, Mailchimp, Notion, or similar tools.
