Middle School Math Teacher

Farwell Middle School seeks a highly qualified Middle School Math Teacher to provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction for students in grades 6–7. The ideal candidate will foster a growth mindset, promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and create a positive classroom culture that encourages student achievement and confidence in mathematics.

Essential Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver rigorous mathematics instruction aligned with Michigan Academic Standards.
• Develop engaging lessons that promote conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real- world application of mathematical concepts.
• Utilize data to drive instructional decisions and improve student achievement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of diverse learners.
• Create and maintain a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment.
• Regularly assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance student learning.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding academic progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide goals and continuous improvement efforts.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Secondary Education, or a related field.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate secondary mathematics endorsement(s).
• Strong knowledge of mathematics content and instructional best practices.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to student achievement and educational equity.

Preferred

• Experience teaching middle school mathematics.
• Knowledge of intervention strategies and data-driven instruction.
