Human Resources Generalist

Summary

Support HR functions including, but not limited to, recruitment, staffing, personnel records, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, and administration.

Primary Responsibilities

Data Input and Integrity

  • Enter and maintain employee data
  • Run reports on employee status, benefits, and performance
  • Utilize HRIS systems for scheduling and record-keeping

Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution

  • Act as a mediator to resolve interpersonal conflicts between employees or between employees and management
  • Facilitate open communication to understand root causes and propose fair solutions
  • Maintain a neutral and unbiased approach while ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws
  • Ensure employees understand and adhere to workplace policies (anti-discrimination, harassment, grievance procedures)
  • Conduct training and refresher sessions on policies and conflict resolution strategies
  • Investigate complaints or grievances thoroughly and document findings for compliance
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee issues

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Write and post job descriptions across job boards, company websites, and social media
  • Proactively source candidates via LinkedIn and recruitment agencies
  • Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate hiring manager interviews
  • Extend offers, negotiate terms, and prepare employment documentation
  • Maintain communication with candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Address candidate questions regarding role expectations and hiring process
  • Ensure completion of onboarding paperwork (I-9s, tax forms, background checks)
  • Lead new hire orientations covering company culture, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate initial training and onboarding resources

Training

  • Schedule and organize training sessions, workshops, and seminars
  • Maintain training records and certifications within HR systems
  • Support development and distribution of training materials
  • Gather and analyze feedback to improve training programs

Employee Engagement

  • Support initiatives to improve employee morale and workplace culture
  • Assist with development and analysis of engagement surveys
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs and events
  • Help organize team-building activities and company events

Compensation and Benefits Administration

  • Maintain records related to compensation, benefits enrollment, and payroll
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and changes
  • Prepare and review payroll data to ensure accuracy
  • Generate reports related to compensation and benefits programs

Regulatory Requirements and Additional Responsibilities

  • Support updates to employee handbooks and HR policies to ensure compliance
  • Maintain personnel files (I-9s, certifications, training records) in audit-ready condition
  • Track completion of required compliance training
  • Monitor updates to labor laws and ensure HR practices remain compliant
  • Perform additional duties as required based on skills and capabilities

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Marketing, Psychology, Communications, or equivalent experience. 
  • 2–4 years of manufacturing experience required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
