Concessions Cashier-University of St. Thomas

The Concessions Cashier is responsible for being able to accurately ring up and sell product in an efficient manner. The Cashier should be comfortable approaching guests to offer services and sell products. In addition, the Cashier must be willing to help fellow co-workers complete tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handles credit card transactions using the Point of Sales system.
  • Responds to guest’s needs and requests, effectively using suggestive and upselling techniques, and maintains service areas.
  • Completes steps of service to ensure utmost guest satisfaction.
  • Understands and can describe menu offerings, packaging/presentation and pricing.
  • Responds to guest needs and requests.
  • Employs good safety and sanitation practices.
  • Follows cash handling and tip reporting guidelines.
  • Responsible for maintaining the stand sheet with inventory responsibilities.
  • Adheres to Levy Company guidelines as stated in team member training manual and employee handbook.
  • Thoroughly completes all station set-up and breakdown responsibilities.
  • Communicates guest issues to management.
  • Follows responsible alcohol service policies.
  • Practices proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment.
  • Stand for long periods of time (up to 6 hours) and be able to actively engage physically with guests.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms for one-third to two-thirds or more of the designated shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrate physical stamina and agility required to be mobile for long periods throughout the day.
  • Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a desire to gain experience and work in the foodservice or hospitality industry. Previous cash handling experience is preferred. An outgoing personality is preferred. The candidate should have the ability to interact with high profile guests and remain professional and dedicated to providing exceptional experience. The ability to communicate effectively by speaking and comprehending English, with the ability to problem solve and make decisions with little guidance.
