Science Teacher
Howardsville Christian School is looking for an individual who is committed to teaching from a Christian worldview, possesses strong knowledge in science, and has a passion for helping students grow academically and spiritually. This person will teach Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry. This can be a part-time or full-time position. The individual will teach 3 science class hours per day. If the individual is looking for a full-time position, he or she will teach math classes in addition to the 3 science classes.
The qualified individual will be expected to teach school-approved curriculum and plan learning experiences to help each student achieve success in the classroom. Weekly lesson plans and objectives will be made that will help students succeed, and this person will help establish a climate of care in the classroom.
Qualifications
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian education.
- A signed agreement of the statement of faith of the Howardsville Christian School
- A bachelor’s degree is required. Science area of study preferred, particularly in education.
- Active involvement in a local church.
- A demonstrated ability to teach students well, at the grade level and for the subject area.
General Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to students in a way they can understand and learn from. Adjust lessons accordingly to help all students with different learning styles achieve success.
- Communicate regularly with parents about students’ progress and needs.
- Strong Classroom management skills.
- Promote Christian Education to parents and students.
- Be punctual and prepared daily.
- Use relevant technology in the classroom.
- Enforce the HCS Student policy guidelines in the classroom.
- Reports to HCS Administrator
