Secondary Science Teacher
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Secondary Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging, inquiry-based instruction in areas such as biology, chemistry, physics, or general science, while fostering critical thinking and scientific literacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver standards-aligned science lessons for middle and/or high school students
- Develop hands-on, lab-based learning experiences
- Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of methods
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom and laboratory environment
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Integrate technology into instruction and assessment
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration
- Participate in professional development and school activities
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Science Endorsement
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or related
- Additional endorsements preferred
- Must meet the “Highly-Qualified” status
- Develop and implement effective behavior management plans
- Strong classroom management and communication
- Demonstration of skills in relationship building with all stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Must demonstrate patience and compassion
- Demonstrate the ability to keep confidentiality in regards to the Family Privacy Act
