Substance Abuse Counselor

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our clinical team, you will:

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling (as clinically appropriate)
  • Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments and develop personalized treatment plans
  • Deliver crisis intervention and stabilization services when needed
  • Facilitate structured group sessions and educational programming
  • Manage caseloads with a focus on quality care and positive outcomes
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and community partners
  • Coordinate care and provide ongoing case management support
  • Monitor client progress and adapt treatment plans accordingly
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and program improvement initiatives

What You Bring

We’re looking for a dedicated professional who is:

  • Knowledgeable in substance use treatment principles, assessments, and best practices
  • Skilled in building therapeutic relationships with diverse populations
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills
  • A strong communicator and collaborative team player

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field OR
    • High school diploma/equivalent with relevant experience and/or certifications
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of clinical experience in substance abuse treatment
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Full certification by a nationally recognized addiction counseling body
  • Clearances Required:
    • Child Abuse, Criminal, FBI background checks
    • Must not be listed on Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion lists
