Position Description: Conservation Outreach Coordinator
Role:
The Little Forks Conservancy is a land conservation organization whose purpose is the preservation of natural resources. The person in this position will be responsible for assisting our conservation efforts and donor engagement in our community. Duties include donor management, event development and coordination, communications and social media, public speaking, program support and other duties that share the Conservancy’s message with the community.
Objectives:
The COC will work with the Executive Director and Conservancy staff to further our work and strengthen the Little Forks Conservancy. This position will assist with all aspects of the Conservancy through providing support for our programs. The COC will be responsible for implementing the Freshwater Society project with assistance from the Land Conservation Specialist and Executive Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is a full-time, exempt position. The Conservation Outreach Coordinator will perform the following tasks as part of their flexible work schedule and must be willing to work some evening and weekend as needed.
Conservation Program Support
- Assist the Executive Director with initiatives such as the annual fundraising appeal, membership renewals, special appeals, legacy society and other donor relations tasks.
- Strengthen and maintain the donor database, including managing members, campaigns, acknowledgements, and reports.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of recognition and cultivation events.
- Preform day-to-day administrative tasks such as writing letters, documenting donor information, database management, and solicitation
- Create an annual solicitation schedule and coordinate staff member participation on these efforts.
- Coordinate social media posts, electronic newsletters, and other outreach communications.
- Create and coordinate implementation of new outreach events and ideas.
- Coordinate hikes and educational events for Little Forks.
- Assist staff members as needed (project support, events).
- Represent Little Forks at community and outreach events, and partnership opportunities in our service area.
- Develops, maintains and strengthens working relationships with conservation partners and collaborations.
- Create event graphic flyers and other materials.
- Assists with grant writing and business development.
- Attends Board meetings as needed to inform members of project status.
- Completes additional tasks assigned that support Little Forks’ mission.
Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate will have:
- Working knowledge of land conservation
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to work in small teams and with community members.
- The ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with donors and volunteers
- Outstanding attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to timely completion of projects.
Preferred but not Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Mailchimp, Eventbrite and Salesforce
