As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you’ll work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients improve mobility, restore function, relieve pain, and regain independence — making a meaningful impact every day.

Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- PTA license in good standing with the State of Michigan
- BLS certification within 3 months of hire
- Valid Michigan driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance (required for Bronson at Home)
Additional Qualifications
- Basic computer and typing skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Social sensitivity and effective communication skills
- High interpersonal skills for delicate patient care situations
- Ability to manage mental/visual fatigue and frequent deadlines
- Considerable standing/walking; regular lifting up to 20 lbs; assisting with heavier patient‑handling tasks
Clinical Duties
- Follow the plan of care and goals established by the Physical Therapist
- Provide direct patient care, including physical, electrical, mechanical, and heat treatments
- Conduct individual and/or group therapy activities
- Educate patients, families, and the community
- Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and hospital rounds
- Support program development and serve as a resource in areas of expertise
- Participate in student programs and rotations
- Provide in‑services for the Bronson Rehabilitation System
Administrative Duties
- Document in the electronic health record within required timelines
- Communicate any documentation barriers to leadership
- Maintain accurate, legible, and complete patient records
- Serve on committees and task forces
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
- Demonstrate effective time‑management skills
- Supervise Rehab Clinical Assistants, PTA students, and volunteers
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Frequent standing and walking
- Regular lifting of up to 20 lbs; assisting with heavier patient‑related tasks
- Mental/visual fatigue typical of roles with varied duties and deadlines
- Up to 40 percent of time using a computer or mobile device
Driving Requirement
Regular use of your personal vehicle is required. An MVR check must be completed after offer and before start date. Employees must maintain valid auto insurance and update Bronson if coverage changes or a different vehicle is used for business purposes.
