Job Summary

The new business development account manager is responsible for initiating, managing, and closing all Request for Quote (RFQ) opportunities received from customers, as well as providing a point of contact to customers in both new business and existing production situations.
 

Essential Functions

  • Process quotes through Nifco’s internal quote system for new business.
  • Create logical customer quotes that account for Nifco strategy and profitability targets.
  • Complete customer breakdowns and maintain accurate quote log documentations.
  • Work with Design and Costing teams to understand cost drivers of parts during quote to maximize quote competitiveness and avoid misunderstandings before kickoff.
  • Create documents and organize kickoff meetings to trigger new product launches and design changes.
  • Meet with customers regularly, both to discuss existing opportunities as well as promote Nifco products and understand ongoing needs.
  • Contact customers regularly to check in on recent needs and deepen relationships.
  • Provide input for new product presentations to new business development sales leads.
  • Process vehicle revenue updates and ensure accuracy of all data entries.
  • Provide support for Capacity & Planning Team on mid-production customer activity such as EOP coordination, APR documentation, VA proposals, and capacity investigations.
  • Assist with customer communications during major quality conformance issues.                                                                                                              

Education: 

  • Must have an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or equivalent degree or experience.

 

Skills/Experience/Requirements: 

  • Less than 2 years of professional sales experience, particularly in the automotive industry and/or with injection molded parts.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills to interact effectively with customers and other departments.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Willing to travel and work via occasional overnight trips.
  • Ability to multitask effectively. Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, goal-driven and able to work effectively with global teams.
  • Ability to interpret basic details on technical drawings preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented; able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in Microsoft Outlook, Powerpoint, and Excel.
  • Licensed driver with a safe driving record.
