International Health Scholar Intensive | Tokyo, Japan

COPE Health Scholars Intensive Experiences are short-term, immersive learning opportunities that combine academic instruction with real-world exposure to healthcare delivery models across diverse domestic and international settings. WE do have limited availability as the cohort has began orientations and is preparing for departure. • Join a 12-day immersive learning experience in Tokyo, Japan focused on global healthcare systems and value-based care models.
• Participate in hybrid learning through both classroom instruction and hands-on activities at Josai International University.
• Tour hospitals and clinics to observe Japan’s healthcare delivery in action and engage with local providers.
• Take part in cultural excursions designed to deepen your understanding of global perspectives in health and wellness.
• Learn from esteemed faculty and healthcare industry leaders offering insights into international healthcare structures.
• Travel with up to 65 Scholars as part of an international cohort of pre-health students and healthcare professionals.

Program Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Submit transcript from your most recent institution demonstrating a minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Program alumni who are 5-years into their career may submit a more recent copy of their resume in lieu of a transcript.
• Submit three short essays (available in application process).
• Complete a program interview.

Program Dates: June 18-June 29, 2026 with travel days on June 18 and June 29

Tuition: Varies based on single or double occupancy, includes: program curriculum; flight (LAX to Tokyo); hotel, meals: daily breakfast, most lunches, and a group dinner; select activities and transportation (Hato Bus all-day tour, hospital site visits, and choice of activity)

Tuition Range: (10% discount available and can be applied to the tuition)

• $8,649 (double, flight included) - $9,349 (single, flight included) 
• $7,649 (double, flight not included) - $8,349 (single (flight not included)

Payment options are available as well as financing through Klarna. Applicants may be eligible for a 10% referral off their tuitions.

Completion Certificate: Issued by UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, intensive course in Comparative Study of the US and Japanese Healthcare Systems.
