Construction Project Manager
Job description:
About Us Founded by twin brothers David and Daniel Michelsen, Twin Buds Reconstruction is a specialized construction company serving the Austin and San Antonio areas. We exclusively focus on the build-back phase following water, fire, and mold losses, primarily serving the commercial sector. We pride ourselves on our uncompromising quality, high attention to detail, and a commitment to complete customer satisfaction on every project.
Role Overview We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager is responsible for taking a project from assignment through closeout while maintaining strict control over scheduling, subcontractors, budgets, and quality. You will not be responsible for estimating; your focus will be entirely on executing the provided scope on time, maximizing profitability, and delivering a flawless final product.
Core Responsibilities
- Project Ownership: Take full command of commercial reconstruction projects following the estimator hand-off, ensuring a seamless transition from approved scope to active execution.
- Site & Quality Management: Drive daily progress through active, on-the-ground management. Visually verify the quality of all trade work to ensure it meets our strict, high-detail standards before approving next steps.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Source, schedule, and manage skilled trades, ensuring strict adherence to timelines, safety expectations, and required vendor compliance.
- Financial Oversight: Protect project profitability by managing the execution budget, meticulously tracking expenses, and preventing material or labor waste.
- Client Communication: Serve as the professional face of the company on-site, providing proactive daily updates to client contacts and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- System Tracking: Leverage Monday.com and Google Sheets to maintain accurate, real-time project schedules, coordinate internal workflows, and track milestones.
- Closeouts: Drive projects across the finish line by managing aggressive punch lists, conducting final walkthroughs, and overseeing comprehensive project closeouts.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of construction or project management experience is preferred.
- Tech-Savvy: Working knowledge of Monday.com and Google Sheets is highly preferred for daily tracking and updates.
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to anticipate on-site challenges, troubleshoot schedule conflicts (like material delays), and pivot quickly to keep projects moving forward.
- Advanced Communication: Must be able to have firm, professional conversations with subcontractors to hold them accountable, while simultaneously delivering polished, reassuring updates to our commercial clients.
- Time Management & Prioritization: Highly organized and capable of managing multiple active job sites, efficiently planning daily routes, and prioritizing tasks to meet strict deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: An uncompromising eye for quality control, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks, especially during the final punch list phase.
- Logistics: Ability to travel locally to visit job sites daily, verify trade progress, and occasionally transport materials. A personal truck is preferred, but not mandatory.
Compensation
- Total Compensation: Includes a competitive base salary plus a performance-based commission structure tied directly to execution speed, project profitability, and quality standards.
Benefits:
- Fuel card
- Paid time off
- Professional development assistance
Work Location: On the road
