Electrical Engineer - Co-op (January-August 2027)
ThermalTech Engineering is a full-service engineering firm. We provide consulting services to Fortune 100 and 500 companies throughout the United States. Our team of over 150 members is growing! We are looking for co-op students interested in Electrical Power design for industrial facilities.

- You will be challenged. Our co-op students are assigned to projects on their first day. We rely on our co-ops to execute projects.
Applicable Interests:
- Strong academic performance in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program (a minimum of 3.3 is required for consideration).
- Experience/coursework and interest in high, medium, and low voltage systems and application of the National Electrical Code (NEC) to engineering designs.
- Interest in developing engineering drawings, device selection, and hands-on fieldwork.
Throughout your assignment, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the following skills:
- Analyze power distribution systems for large industrial customers for short-circuit (Arc Flash) hazards and breaker coordination studies using Arc Flash analysis software.
- Select power equipment such as starters, VFD’s, motor control centers, switchgear, substations, emergency generators, UPS’s, grounding systems, and lighting systems.
- Develop single line drawings in AutoCAD. Model equipment in 3D.
- Identify, document, and assess electrical equipment, capacity, and key electrical attributes.
- Size feeders and conduit for a variety of loads.
- Design emergency power, back-up power, and life-safety systems.
- Research and interpret codes and standards.
- Configure communications, data, and other building systems, including fire alarm, PA, intercom, telephone, and data.
