Job Description – Field Management Internship
General Description:
The Superintendent Intern will assist the Project Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in daily coordination and supervision of construction activities. This internship is designed to provide exposure to field operations, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, safety oversight, and quality control, giving students hands-on learning in how Conlan delivers projects.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist in coordinating daily construction activities and subcontractor work.
- Support documentation including daily reports, safety observations, and project photos in Procore.
- Help schedule and prepare for inspections.
- Participate in jobsite safety orientations and toolbox talks.
- Assist with maintaining an organized jobsite and field office.
- Learn how to prepare work sequences and logistics plans.
- Gain familiarity with project contract requirements, plans, and specifications.
- Observe site quality assurance processes and assist with punch list activities.
- Attend OAC meetings and represent Conlan positively in all interactions.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Physical Demands & Environment:
- Frequent mobility around active construction sites (stairs, ladders, scaffolding, varying terrain).
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work primarily in the field/site environment with exposure to weather and noise.
Minimum Requirements:
- Enrolled in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related program.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in or willing to learn Microsoft Office, Procore, and Bluebeam.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a TEAM PLAYER.
