General Description / Primary Purpose:

The Admissions Recruiter serves as a key member of the admissions team, responsible for engaging prospective students, parents, and community partners to promote enrollment at the University of North Florida (UNF). This position represents UNF’s academic programs and admissions criteria through on-campus and off-campus outreach, ensuring alignment with the State University System standards. The recruiter acts as a brand ambassador, fostering positive relationships and positioning UNF as an institution of choice.


Job Function:

Recruitment & Outreach

Represent UNF at high schools, community colleges, and community events within the assigned territory.

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including principals, counselors, and community leaders.

Counsel prospective students and families on admissions requirements, academic programs, and student life.

Maintain regular communication with prospective students and families via email, phone, and virtual platforms.

Assist in planning and executing recruitment events on-campus, off-campus, and virtually.

Interpret and explain UNF and Florida Board of Governors policies, including BOG 6.002, general education requirements, and selective admissions criteria.

 

Brand Representation

Serve as UNF’s brand ambassador by promoting the university’s mission, vision, and hallmarks.

Develop emotional engagement strategies to enhance UNF’s visibility and reputation.

Support marketing initiatives through participation in open houses, workshops, and recruitment events, brochures, emails, and web content.

 

Application Support

Advise applicants on application procedures, scholarship opportunities, and tuition waivers.

Monitor application status and follow up with prospective students to resolve issues and encourage completion.

Utilize Banner, Slate, and other systems to collect and analyze data for recruitment effectiveness.

Applies expertise to manage inquiries about college programs and resolve key operational issues, safeguarding the University’s brand and student experience

 

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Support Financial Aid Outreach and Scholarship units in administering institutional merit scholarships.

Provide guidance on out-of-state tuition waivers and refer specialized inquiries to senior leadership.

 

Travel

Plan and manage extensive travel throughout Florida and select out-of-state regions.

Represent UNF at college fairs, high school visits, and community events.


Marginal Functions:

Prepare and mail recruitment literature.

Answer phone calls and take messages during peak periods.

Assist other Enrollment Management units during high-volume times.

Participate in university committees and special projects as assigned.

Participate in public and persuasive speaking

During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
