AWS Cloud Club Captain

Join a growing network of student cloud enthusiasts by becoming an AWS Cloud Club Captain! As a Captain you'll get to organize events and build community while developing leadership skills.

AWS Cloud Clubs are student-led user groups for cloud enthusiasts aged 18 and above. Cloud Clubs are led by Captains - student leaders who guide and manage their campus clubs with support from AWS. During a Captain’s 12-month term, Captains organize events to build awareness of AWS in their communities.

Captain benefits include the opportunity to upskill in both technical and soft skills with the gift of AWS credits, certification vouchers, mentorship opportunities, swag, and more! We've heard from our alums that the technical knowledge + community building experience looks great on resumes/CVs. Many of our Alumni have graduated to join AWS or AWS Partner companies full-time as Software Engineers, Solutions Architects, Cloud Engineers, and more.

We are looking for student leaders who..

  • Are 18+ years old and enrolled in a higher education institution until after October 2026
  • Have experience building a club or hosting technical events
  • Demonstrate knowledge of AWS and can explain a technical topic on video to a student audience

The application involves a written application and video. We also recommend candidates to find support from faculty at your school to start their Club; this is recommended but not required.

💡 Pro Tip: If you were referred by an AWS community leader (AWS Hero, Community Builder, or User Group Leader), remember to mention their name in your application.
