Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager to join our team in Troy, MI. This role will focus on managing relationships with automotive OEMs, driving new business development, and leading the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the automotive industry, exceptional sales acumen, and the ability to foster long-term client partnerships while achieving revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at automotive OEMs to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective OEM clients to expand market share.
- Lead the RFQ process, including coordinating with internal teams (engineering, manufacturing, and pricing) to develop competitive proposals and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align customer requirements with company capabilities, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic account plans and business development initiatives.
- Achieve or exceed sales targets and KPIs related to new business acquisition and account growth.
- Provide regular reports on account status, sales forecasts, and RFQ progress to senior management.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and network with key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in account management or sales within the automotive industry, preferably with a Tier 1 supplier.
- Proven success in new business development and managing RFQ processes for automotive OEMs.
- Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and OEM requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software, MS Office Suite, and project management tools.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
Preferred Skills:
- Established network of contacts within automotive OEMs.
- Experience with complex contract negotiations and pricing strategies.
- Technical knowledge of automotive components or systems.
