Business Services Specialist
Cooperative Educational Service Agency 10 (CESA 10) is seeking a full-time Business Services Specialist to be based in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. The Business Services Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Business Services Department with the financial operations of school districts and the agency.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and three (3) years of prior work experience in an accounting position.

- Ability to apply knowledge of governmental accounting, budgeting, bookkeeping, and record-keeping principles, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding internal matters of the Agency and comply with legal confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with other staff, other agencies, and the public.
- Ability to analyze complicated fiscal and administrative systems and provide sound advice and recommendations.
- Ability to be an ideal team player by working in a team environment, recognizing the success of others, using good judgment and intuition in group dynamics, understanding the impact of words and actions, and being self-motivated.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Process accounts payable following district procedures.
- Records receipts following district procedures.
- Prepares journal entries as needed.
- Maintains an efficient procurement system for purchasing and paying for supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Completes bank reconciliations and reconciliations of other accounts as needed.
- Assists with the development, monitoring, and evaluation of budgets.
- Prepare and file 1099 forms for school districts.
- Prepares and verifies financial annual reports and financial records, including those required by the district, the Department of Public Instruction, and other State and Federal agencies.
- Establishes record-keeping systems in order to comply with reporting requirements and applicable records retention requirements.
- Assists school districts with the management, budgeting, and claiming of grants outside of services offered in the CESA 10 service catalog.
- Assists in developing best practices for procedures and workflows.
- Serves as backup for duties performed by other members of the department.
- Attends meetings as directed.
- Attends/participates in professional development, workshops, and conferences.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
