The CSU Equine Sciences Program is seeking several enthusiastic camp counselors for the summer of 2026 Youth Horsemanship Camps. This position runs from June 8th - 19th, 2026, and includes staying overnight with our campers in the CSU dorms. We rely heavily on our camp counselors to create and maintain a safe, fun and educational atmosphere for all of our campers, in both the daily activities at the Equine Center and evening activities in the dorms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Camp Counselor experience with youth, ages 10 - 17.
- Experience providing beginner to intermediate riding lessons in a group setting.
- Intermediate to advanced horse handling skills.
- Experience in creating and providing mini lessons on basic horse topics.
- Experience in supervising youth, ages 10 - 17.
This is an overnight position for the entire two weeks of summer camp. Counselors must be available for the entirety of June 8th - 19th to apply. We will also have a short virtual training the week before camp begins.
Colorado State University may conduct background checks on final candidates.

Hourly Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour (Based on a 40 hour work week, plus room and board).

Start Date: June 8th (with one training/meeting to be scheduled the week before camp starts).
